Local Favorite: Canvas Restaurant & Market
Canvas Restaurant and Market, the place I have deemed my favorite place for Sunday brunch and weeknight dinners. Once you pay them a visit, I’m sure it will be yours too. The restaurant is nestled in a beautiful Lake Nona neighborhood, Laureate Park. When you enter through their massive, bright yellow double doors, you are greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and market full of unique items brought in by local vendors. You can choose to enjoy a coffee and a fresh, in house baked treat in their front market or you can walk into their main restaurant and bar to enjoy a delicious lunch, dinner, or brunch on Sundays.

To top off the gorgeous interior of the restaurant, Canvas features a side of their dining room that includes floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water and green pastures of land. Not a bad view for lunch if you ask me. But-even if you aren’t seated near the window views, their restaurant is beautiful from any seat in the house and they offer outdoor seating as well, for those of us who like a little sunshine with our breakfast.

Canvas describes their place as “Latin-inspired Southern dinners served in a hip space with a home good store offering all-day bites.”
Some of my favorites on the menu are the SWEET TEA crispy chicken sandwich-yup that’s right, sweet tea! The chicken is brined in sweet tea and it gives the sandwich such a delicious flavor. It’s served with fries and housemade pickles.
My second choice is my brunch favorite, The Meyer Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. I am a lemon freak-so these quickly became a quick favorite for me. They offer such a fresh and bright taste and a light and fluffy texture.
And DO NOT forget to try an order of their Twice-Cooked Yuca Fries. This appetizer is somewhat indescribable so you’ll just have to take my word for it!
