Orlando’s Best: Slate |Modern American Restuarant|
Today on Orlando’s Best, I’m going to tell you all about the treasure that is Slate.

I first discovered this place on a night out with my family. Before having a bite of anything, I was quickly impressed by the design and ambiance of the restaurant. It’s got a sleek, modern feel, but still feels like a perfect place to gather with friends or family and stay awhile.

Now let’s get to the good stuff–cocktails!! If you’re looking for something simple and traditional, I 10/10 recommend their cosmo (we had a great bartender who made them nice and strong). They also have a large, beautiful wine list to choose from and local drafts. Most importantly, they host a happy hour Monday 4:30 pm-close and 4:30 pm-6:30 pm every other day of the week where they also include some great small plates.

For food, I’m going to go ahead and say there is nothing on this menu that isn’t delicious. Everything is made to order, inventive, and thoughtfully prepared. Our minds were blown by their mac & cheese, sounds simple but let me tell you, you’ve never had mac and cheese like this before. It includes an amazing amount of cheeses, cheddar gruyere, provolone, mozzarella, topped with breadcrumbs and baked in the oven. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

If you’re looking for someplace neat with a great vibe to hang with friends after work, a place to brunch on the weekends, or a date night spot, definitely check out Slate! It’s located in the heart of Dr. Phillips. I will leave the location address and hours below. Bonus, it’s neighbors with Trader Joe’s, so we often pop in there after dinner to walk off the wine and pick up some groceries before heading home!
Enjoy! 🥂
